Summer Program in Taiwan for Spanish Graduate Students

Official Program Objective: "In order to promote a further collaboration with Spanish Education and Research authorities, the National Science Council of Taiwan (NSC) intends to provide 10 Spanish graduate students - PhD or Master students in science and social sciences and humanities - of first-hand research experience in Taiwan, an introduction to its science and technology policy infrastructure, and orientation to the culture and language.
The goals of the program are to introduce students to Taiwanese scientific and technological development in the context of a research laboratory, and to initiate personal relationships that will better enable them to collaborate with foreign counterparts in the future."
Program Eligibility: "The candidate must:
- be of Spanish nationality
- be enrolled as a Master or PhD student in a Spanish university
Priority will be given to candidates having made contact with Taiwanese hosts."
Number of Participants: 10
Program Duration: 8 weeks, from June 28th to August 20th, 2010.
Cost: "NSC takes in charge Spanish students living allowance, organizes visits and researches as well as Chinese language training during the orientation session. Students will receive a living allowance of 50,000 Taiwanese dollars for 2 months, of which 20% of taxes will be deducted."
